GSI started by reviewing Southern Woods’ existing insurance and looking for opportunities to improve the cover they had in place. Southern Woods is a unique business, with numerous ongoing projects, which meant a significant amount of collaboration took place before any changes were made.
“There were a number of discussions to really understand the business and the risks,” Sean says. “John was great to work with, particularly the fact that, as the chief executive, he puts a lot of emphasis on his insurance programme and making sure it was right. The key was understanding the business.”
During the review process, Sean identified that Southern Woods could save on their premiums while increasing their cover, creating an immediate cost saving for the business.
John welcomes the cost saving, but says it’s equally important to work with a reliable, attentive insurance partner who proactively takes care of the business’ needs.
GSI and Southern Woods are at the beginning of their insurance partnership, and John and Sean are optimistic about the future.
“It’s really just the start,” Sean says. “We’re looking forward to going to see [Southern Woods] regularly, making sure that everything’s up to date, and keeping up that communication.”
